We live in a complex, confusing and often frightening world, changing so rapidly that even a map quickly becomes out of date.

But the direction in which the needle of a magnetic compass points change very little, and without a compass to provide direction navigators are unable to find their way.

The scripture is also unchanging and is a source of guidance in life. We can use it as a compass to navigate through life’s minefield of many issues.

If it’s teachings are followed, the Scripture will point us along the right path of life rather than along a path to destruction on life’s many mines.

King David, a valiant soldier and king said: “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” – Psalm 119:105.

Jesus said: “I am the Light of the World. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but have the light of life.” John 8:12.

In Christ, we draw the light to navigate through life’s many mines/challenges/struggles/uncertainties and questions.

When the light shines forth, everything unclear becomes clear.
